This is normal and will not effect the macbook performance. ![]() When the data is continuously transmitted, the adapter will hot. Do not fit with macbook(pro) which owns a Case/Cover. Apple's Thunderbolt 3 cable gives me the feeling that it has the right size and it'll connect. unlike any other cable you've used in the past few decades, USB Type-C in MacBook Pro has to *click* to be fully connected while trying to connect Dell's cable to the monitor you might have the feeling that you pushed the cable all the way through but you didn't. Some things to keep in mind if someone is struggling with the same problem and uses USB Type-C for the first time: I already ordered a Thunderbolt 3 cable that works as well. While connecting the cable to the monitor was fairly easy and smooth I can't say the same about connecting it to the MacBook Pro. ![]() I didn't connect the Monitor to the MacBook properly. ![]() The cable that Dell shipped with this monitor works with my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018).
